Volunteer Temaari McFeil expressed a mix of hope and concern about the ongoing crisis. “I was excited because, even though I’m a volunteer, I am on SNAP. I have seen some people got it, some people haven’t,” she said.
The looming shutdown has left many in the Bronx, including Sharon Robinson, feeling desperate. With no food stamps available for November, Robinson is forced to rely on multiple food pantries to survive. “I gotta go around to different food pantries, go out, panhandle. It’s bad.
