UPDATE: Former coach and teacher Caleb Elliott from Moore Middle School in Celina, Texas has been arrested again, now facing a third criminal charge related to disturbing allegations of secretly filming minors. Authorities have issued a new warrant for Elliott’s arrest on charges of sexual performance of a child, classified as a second-degree felony.
Elliott was taken into custody on Thursday and is currently held at the Collin County Jail, where no bond has been set. This latest arrest stems from ongoing investigations by the Celina Police Department regarding his actions in the locker room, where it’s alleged he recorded over 30 boys without their consent.
According to police, the Texas Penal Code defines “Sexual Performance” as a crime that involves coaxing a child under 18 to perform acts that visually exhibit lewd behavior. This includes asking victims to engage in activities while naked or partially clothed.
Elliott’s troubling history includes his initial arrest in October 2023, where he faced charges for invasive visual recording and possession of child pornography. A lawsuit filed by parents of the alleged victims claims that Celina ISD was aware of Elliott’s inappropriate relationship with a student while he worked at Celina High School. The lawsuit alleges the district relocated him to Moore Middle School to cover up these allegations.
In light of these serious charges, Celina ISD has placed Elliott on indefinite administrative leave. This situation has sent shockwaves through the community, particularly as it follows other alarming incidents within the district. Just last week, Micheale Clark, a 46-year-old special education teacher’s aide at Celina High School, was arrested for endangering a disabled individual while allegedly impaired on campus. Additionally, Jainya Walder, a 40-year-old English teacher at Moore Middle School, faces similar charges involving child endangerment due to allegations of being impaired in her classroom.
As investigations continue, Celina ISD has also placed other staff members on administrative leave, including the principal of Moore Middle School and the district’s athletic director, Bill Elliott, to ensure a thorough inquiry into these grave matters.
With the community reeling from these revelations, parents and students are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behavior. The ongoing investigations by local authorities may uncover further details, and updates are expected to follow shortly.
