Chatfield Teams Shine at Bi-State Classic: Girls Lead, Boys Second

UPDATE: The Chatfield boys and girls wrestling teams are making waves at the prestigious Bi-State Classic in La Crosse, Wisconsin, held on December 29, 2025. The girls have concluded the first day of competition with a stunning total of 195 points, the highest score among all participating teams, while the boys stand strong in second place with 176.5 points out of 68 teams.

This year’s event is shaping up to be a highlight for the Chatfield squads, showcasing their remarkable talent and determination. Leading the charge for the girls, Melody Ward (100), Maizee Priebe (114), Elle Eickhoff (145), and Eve Goetzinger (165) have all advanced to the semifinals, demonstrating top-notch skills on the mat. Notably, Priebe and Eickhoff each recorded four pins, propelling them to standout performances.

On the boys’ side, Joey Cady, ranked first at 107 in Class 1A, has emerged as a key player, amassing 30 points through four consecutive pins, securing his place in Tuesday’s semifinals. Cady is not alone in his success; teammates Logan Pearson (126) and Kaisen Johnson (132) have also shown exceptional performances, joining him in the semifinals.

The competition is fierce, with other local teams making their mark as well. Cannon Falls/Randolph saw three wrestlers advance to the semifinals: Garrett Williams (106), Owen Parish (113), and Adam Parish (132). Meanwhile, Zumbrota-Mazeppa’s Carl Murray triumphed in the quarterfinals by defeating Chatfield’s Jameson Priebe with a narrow 1-0 decision at 120. Goodhue’s Hayden Holm also made headlines by reaching the semifinals at 150.
