Eagle County School District IT Wins Global Awards for Excellence
UPDATE: The Eagle County School District’s Information Technology Department has just been named a 2025 Global Winner of the prestigious ONCON ICON Top 100 Award in two categories: Technology Team and Information Security. The winners were announced on Tuesday, October 21, during the annual ONCON ICON Awards ceremony, confirming the district’s leadership in technology and innovation.
This recognition is a significant achievement that highlights the district’s commitment to providing secure and transformative technology for education. “This recognition is a tremendous honor and a reflection of the hard work, collaboration, and innovation that define our Information Technology team,” said Phil Qualman, Superintendent of Eagle County School District.
Earlier this year, Jack Donnelly, Chief Technology Officer, was also named a finalist for the Colorado ORBIE Award for CIO of the Year, showcasing the district’s excellence in technology management. This award places Eagle County School District among Colorado’s elite technology leaders, driving digital transformation and cybersecurity excellence.
The district has gained international recognition for its innovative approach, recently featured in Boss Magazine, which profiled its efforts in digital transformation and equitable access to technology. The article emphasized the district’s vision of creating a secure, future-ready technology ecosystem that empowers educators and students.
In addition to these accolades, the district’s User Support Team has earned the Elite Servicer Award from Lenovo for exceptional performance in the Lenovo Device Self-Maintainer Program. This award is granted to top-performing organizations that excel in maintaining Lenovo devices, including Chromebooks.
By being certified as a Lenovo Self-Maintainer, the Eagle County School District can conduct in-house warranty repairs, drastically reducing device turnaround times from 45 days to less than four. This efficiency ensures that technology is quickly accessible to students and staff, directly enhancing the educational experience.
“Our User Support Team’s dedication to fast, high-quality device repair has had a direct impact on teaching and learning,” said Donnelly. “Receiving Lenovo’s Elite Servicer Award highlights how our team’s skill and innovation translate into real benefits for students and staff every single day.”
The achievements of the Eagle County School District’s IT Department not only reflect its commitment to excellence but also set a benchmark for educational technology across the globe. As they continue to innovate and enhance their technological landscape, the community can expect significant benefits for students and educators alike.
Stay tuned for more updates as the Eagle County School District continues to lead the way in technological advancements and educational support.
