EF-1 Tornado Strikes Kendall and Comal Counties, Causing Damage
UPDATE: A powerful EF-1 tornado touched down in Kendall and Comal Counties late Friday night, October 27, 2023, with peak winds reaching 110 mph. The tornado tracked over 20 miles, causing significant damage but thankfully no reported injuries.
The tornado’s path wreaked havoc, particularly near U.S. 281 and F.M. 306, where it uprooted trees, toppled power poles, and damaged roofs. The storm weakened as it approached Fischer, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.
Local authorities have confirmed that part of East Commerce Street is closed due to compromised construction scaffolding, posing additional hazards to residents and motorists. Crews are currently assessing the damage and restoring power where outages have occurred.
