Georgia Soprano Maria Valdes Returns for Valdosta Symphony Concert

UPDATE: Renowned soprano Maria Valdes will grace the stage of the Valdosta Symphony Orchestra for a highly anticipated concert on November 15, 2025, marking her triumphant return to her Georgia roots. The concert, titled “Scenes of Life,” will feature Valdes performing Samuel Barber’s evocative piece “Knoxville: Summer of 1915”, a work steeped in nostalgia and emotion. This piece, originally commissioned by soprano Eleanor Steber in 1947, transforms James Agee’s poem into a mesmerizing musical experience.
