“Incredibly proud of my kids and the toughness they displayed tonight,” said Hermon coach Mark Reed. He emphasized the team’s commitment to defense, which made it challenging for Cony to execute their game plan. “We had to play the way we wanted to play, not get rushed,” Reed explained.
The game began with a tight contest, tied at 10-10 after the first quarter. Hermon edged ahead by halftime, leading 21-18. The Hawks then extended their lead in the third quarter, with standout performances from Carter Wiggin, who led all scorers with 23 points.
