According to Connecticut State Police, the chaos started when officers attempted to stop Adams in his black Ford Edge. Instead of complying, he allegedly accelerated to speeds exceeding 100 mph on Interstate 91, weaving through traffic and even switching off his headlights in a reckless attempt to evade capture. Eyewitnesses reported seeing the vehicle zigzagging across multiple lanes, appearing to intentionally target pursuing cruisers.
The pursuit escalated as troopers deployed stop sticks, successfully puncturing one of Adams’ tires. However, he continued driving north until he slowed down on the exit ramp for Exit 28.
