Indiana House Invites Teens to Experience State Government in 2026

UPDATE: The Indiana House of Representatives just announced an exciting opportunity for young Hoosiers! Students aged 13 to 18 can apply to serve as pages during the 2026 legislative session, gaining firsthand experience in the workings of state government.

State Representatives Jack Jordan and Jake Teshka are championing this initiative, inviting eager youth to engage directly with lawmakers and witness the legislative process up close. The House Page Program begins in January and runs every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday until the session concludes. Sessions operate from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., designed to fit within school schedules.

“This is a rewarding experience,” stated Jordan, emphasizing the value of civic engagement. Teshka added, “I always look forward to welcoming students and showing them what the legislative process looks like up close.” Participants will not only meet lawmakers but also interact with fellow pages and House staff, fostering a deeper understanding of civic responsibility.

To participate, students must secure a one-day excused absence under Indiana law. Interested participants can contact the page program director or email [email protected] for more information. Group visits are coordinated on Wednesdays, allowing for a collective experience. Applications and additional details are available at IndianaHouseRepublicans.com/PageProgram.

While this immersive experience promises insight into government operations, students will need to manage their own transportation and lunches to and from the Statehouse in Indianapolis. This program not only encourages civic engagement among youth but also prepares them for future roles as informed citizens.

Don’t miss out on this unique chance to dive into the world of state government! Apply now and be part of the legislative action this coming year.
