UPDATE: The Dracut community is reeling from the unexpected passing of Roland J. Charland, Jr., who died on December 30, 2025, at just 40 years old. A beloved son and brother, Roland’s sudden departure has left family and friends in shock.
Born on December 16, 1985, Roland was the cherished son of Roland and Darleen (O’Brien) Charland. He is remembered not only for his kindness but also for his close bond with his brother, Corey Charland. Roland dedicated several years to serving as a bus monitor for NRT, demonstrating his commitment to the community and its children.
Roland was a familiar face in Dracut, having also worked at Stop & Shop in the produce department. His passions extended beyond work; he was an avid gamer and enjoyed visiting Disney World and various amusement parks. His culinary experiments brought joy and comfort to those around him, highlighting his love for family gatherings.
Funeral arrangements have been finalized. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at O’Donnell Funeral Home, located at 276 Pawtucket St., Lowell, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at the funeral home.
