Man Arrested for Shooting During Hartford Road Rage Incident
BREAKING: A man has been arrested after allegedly firing shots during a heated road rage incident in Hartford on October 19, 2023. Police responded urgently to the area of Park and Washington Streets just before 8:40 PM following reports of gunfire linked to a road rage confrontation.
According to Lt. Aaron Boisvert of the Hartford Police Department, officers discovered that the victim’s vehicle sustained damage from gunfire. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported, but the situation has raised significant safety concerns in the community.
Authorities quickly disseminated a description of the suspect’s vehicle to nearby police units. Just moments later, members of the Hartford Police Violent Crimes Unit and the Greater Hartford Regional Auto Theft Task Force located the vehicle and apprehended the suspect, identified as 30-year-old Lorenzo Dunn of Hartford.
Upon searching Dunn’s vehicle, police allegedly uncovered a firearm and narcotics, leading to multiple charges. Dunn was found to have an outstanding warrant for a previous assault involving a firearm reported earlier this year. He now faces serious charges including:
– Criminal attempt to commit first-degree assault
– First-degree reckless endangerment
– Illegal discharge of a firearm
– Criminal possession of a firearm
– Carrying a pistol without a permit
– Weapons in a motor vehicle
– Possession of narcotics
– Possession of narcotics with intent to sell
Dunn has been transported to the Hartford Police Detention Facility where he awaits further legal proceedings. This incident highlights the rising concerns over road rage violence and its potential consequences for public safety.
As the investigation continues, police urge anyone with additional information to come forward. The community remains on high alert as authorities work to address the increasing incidents of gun-related violence on the roads.
