Marin Academy Dominates Terra Linda in 54-25 Home Opener

URGENT UPDATE: The Marin Academy Wildcats showcased a commanding performance in their girls basketball home opener, defeating the Terra Linda Trojans 54-25 on Friday night. This decisive victory marks the Wildcats’ second win of the season, putting them at 2-0 overall.

Led by standout Sterling Colpitts, who scored an impressive 17 points, Marin Academy dominated the game from start to finish. Penelope Lee contributed significantly with 10 points and provided strong perimeter defense, ensuring the Trojans struggled to find their rhythm. In girls soccer, the Branson Bulls continued their impressive form, defeating Will C. Wood with a resounding 9-0 victory, marking their second consecutive blowout win of the season. Gat Howell scored twice, while Julia Myerberg contributed a goal and three assists. The Bulls displayed an exceptional team effort, with Anya Sridharan, Kara Kandakulam, and Sadie Saavedra each netting a goal and an assist.

In a closely contested match, Marin Catholic battled to a 1-1 tie against Maria Carrillo on Thursday night, with Nora Snearly scoring for Marin Catholic. Goalkeepers Joanie Caraluggio and Brooklyn Blackman combined for a solid performance, keeping the game competitive.

Shifting to college basketball, the College of Marin Mariners secured a decisive win against Diablo Valley, dominating with a final score of 75-32 on Thursday. The Mariners led by an astounding 32 points at halftime, with Jaidyn Brown and Brooklyn Carter each scoring 10 points. Sierra Calantas added nine points and four steals, showcasing the Mariners’ offensive prowess.
