New Kia Seltos Revealed: Bigger, Hybrid Option Coming in 2026

UPDATE: The all-new Kia Seltos has been unveiled in South Korea, boasting significant upgrades and a hybrid option set to launch in 2026. This refreshed model aims to capture more market share, positioning itself as a competitor to popular small SUVs like the Chevrolet Trailblazer and Honda HR-V.

In a bold move, Kia has expanded the Seltos’ dimensions, increasing its length by 1.8 inches to 174.4 inches, while also enhancing passenger and cargo space. This strategic upgrade aligns with customer feedback demanding more comfort and connectivity. Sales in the U.S. are expected to start in 2026, likely branded as a 2027 model.

The new Seltos will feature a hybrid powertrain, marking the first time Kia offers this option in the model. However, the hybrid will not be available until late 2026. The starting price is set at $23,690, and Kia assures that affordability remains a priority.

Kia has ambitious sales goals, projecting to sell 430,000 units annually of the new model. Production will take place in India, South Korea, and China, with plans to introduce the Seltos in Europe for the first time.

Key features include a ChatGPT-powered virtual assistant to enhance user experience, a panoramic sunroof, and a variety of engine options, including three gasoline engines that deliver between 149 and 193 horsepower. The Seltos will also offer both front- and all-wheel drive, catering to diverse driving preferences.

Kia’s design philosophy echoes that of its larger models, with a robust grille and stylish “Star map” running lights, creating a striking visual identity. Inside, the Seltos boasts dual 12.3-inch screens and improved acoustic insulation for a quieter ride.

As Kia prepares for the launch, industry experts are closely monitoring consumer responses to the new features and dimensions. The focus on hybrid technology and enhanced comfort is likely to resonate with environmentally conscious drivers seeking value in the competitive SUV market.

Stay tuned for further updates as Kia approaches the launch of the new Seltos, which promises to blend style, performance, and affordability in a rapidly evolving automotive landscape.
