Head coach Jason Christensen praised his team’s execution of the game plan, stating, “We talked about how we were going to go inside right away, and we knew they would start in a zone defense.” This strategic focus on scoring in the paint allowed the Tigers to dominate offensively, ending the half with a remarkable 57 points on over 60% shooting.
The defensive effort was equally impressive, as the Tigers effectively limited Midland’s key player, Jenna Weber, to just 11 points on 3 of 10 shooting. “We did a really nice job on her,” Christensen noted, highlighting the importance of containing Weber, who had been averaging 20 points per game.

Christensen acknowledged the crucial contributions from Orth and Hayes, stating, “Their offensive boost will only continue to grow as the season moves along.” Rylee Rosenquist added 12 points, while Yost and Avery Broughton each chipped in with 11 points apiece.
In terms of team performance, DWU shot 49.3% from the field, with a notable 36 of 73 shooting effort and only 10 three-pointers attempted.
