Rochester Grizzlies Fall to West Bend Power, Suffer Third Loss

UPDATE: The Rochester Grizzlies have suffered their third consecutive loss, falling to the West Bend Power in a tight 3-1 match at the Rochester Recreation Center earlier today. This defeat marks a significant setback for the Grizzlies, who dominated puck possession but failed to convert their opportunities into goals.
Despite a strong start, leading in shots 14-6 after the first period, the Grizzlies once again succumbed to an early goal, with West Bend’s Elias Holan netting his third of the season from a pass by Armani Fisher. The Grizzlies now find themselves in a precarious position with a 5-4-0 record, while the Power inches closer to the top of the Central Division standings.
The second period saw a shift in momentum as West Bend capitalized on their chances, with Holan and Adam Sexton scoring impressive goals. Rochester managed to score late in the second period, thanks to Andrew Bastian’s power-play goal, his second of the weekend, but it was not enough to change the outcome.
Rochester’s power play struggled significantly, converting only 1-for-8 attempts after a solid performance of 3-for-6 in their previous game. A standout performance by West Bend goaltender Peter Burke, who recorded 40 saves, was pivotal in securing the victory for the Power.
Fans are looking ahead to the rematch, as the Grizzlies prepare to face West Bend again on October 24, 2023, at 7 p.m.. The urgency for Rochester to bounce back is palpable, as they aim to reclaim their momentum and secure a much-needed win in front of their home crowd.
Stay tuned as the Grizzlies regroup and prepare for this crucial showdown, with hopes of breaking their losing streak and regaining their competitive edge.
