Rosa Lee Manderfeld, Beloved Cloquet Nurse, Passes Away at 83

UPDATE: Rosa Lee Manderfeld, a cherished figure in the Cloquet community and dedicated nurse, passed away on October 16, 2025, at the age of 83. Her death marks a significant loss for family, friends, and the many lives she touched during her remarkable career.

Born on February 2, 1942, to George and Senja Ahlgren, Rosa, affectionately known as Rosie, was the middle child of seven siblings and shared a special bond with her twin brother, Ronnie. Growing up on a small farm in Cloquet, she graduated from Cloquet High School in 1960 and went on to become a licensed practical nurse (LPN), dedicating 42 years of her life to the Cloquet Memorial Hospital.

Rosie was not only committed to her nursing career but also to her health and fitness. In 1992, she proudly completed the Grandma’s Marathon, showcasing her love for walking and running. Her passion for helping others extended beyond the hospital, reflecting her generous spirit.

She married Jerome “Jerry” Manderfeld on February 16, 1963, and together they raised two children, Elizabeth and David. Their enduring love lasted 46 years until Jerry’s passing in 2009. Rosie’s legacy continues through her children and her beloved grandchildren, including Jeries, Joseph, Logan, and Kiera, along with her great-grandson Micah.

Rosie is remembered not just for her professional achievements but also for her deep familial connections. She is preceded in death by her parents and several siblings, including brothers George, Arnold, Ronald, Gordon, Bruce, and sister Arlene Anderson.
