URGENT UPDATE: The highly anticipated Scenes of the Schuylkill Art Show is set to open on November 4, 2025, showcasing over 100 pieces from more than 60 artists. This annual event, presented by Schuylkill River Greenways, will take place at the North Hall Gallery of Montgomery County Community College’s Pottstown Campus and runs until November 21.
This year’s exhibition highlights the stunning beauty and cultural richness of the Schuylkill River National and State Heritage Area. The event kicks off with an exclusive artists’ reception on November 5 from 6 PM to 8 PM, allowing attendees to meet the talented creators behind the artwork.
Patrick Rodgers, Manager of the Montco Cultural Center, has expertly curated this show for nearly a decade. He remarked, “I love the natural aspect of the show. It always brings nature in when the fall is releasing nature and we are all spending more time indoors.”
Highlighting the river’s allure, artist Debby Wyatt, owner of Centered Clay Studio, expressed her enthusiasm: “I love The Scenes of the Schuylkill because it brings out all the creative people who enjoy the river and the beauty of the trail from top to bottom.”
This year, local painter and Ursinus College Assistant Professor David Aipperspach serves as the Guest Juror. His background includes an MFA in Painting from the Rhode Island School of Design and a BA in Landscape Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley. Aipperspach has displayed his artwork nationwide and is a passionate advocate for parks and trails. He stated, “In landscape and nature art, I’m looking for seasonality. I really like when color and landscape painting is really specific and evocative.”
Winners will be selected in several categories, including best in show and best 3-D art, making this a must-see event for art lovers and community members alike.
Tickets for the artists’ reception are available online until November 4 at the Schuylkill River Greenways website, with a limited number available at the door. The exhibition is free to the public during regular college hours, making it accessible for all to enjoy.
As the show approaches, excitement builds in the community. Don’t miss the chance to witness this celebration of art and nature.
