Scott Hoying Exits Dancing With the Stars, Focuses on Pentatonix Tour
UPDATE: Scott Hoying has officially exited Dancing With the Stars, shifting his focus to the upcoming Pentatonix tour starting in just two weeks. Hoying and his professional partner, Rylee Arnold, were eliminated during the Wicked Night episode on October 21, 2023, leaving fans shocked and speculating about the reasons behind their exit.
Hoying, 34, shared his thoughts post-elimination, revealing the immense stress he felt trying to manage both commitments. “I was going to do both at the same time, which I had been stressing about and losing sleep over,” he told Extra. The silver lining? He can now dedicate his full attention to the tour, although he humorously lamented not being able to continue with Arnold, hinting at the emotional toll of leaving the competition.
Fans took to social media following the results, debating whether the decision was based solely on performance or if it was influenced by the impending tour. Some noted that none of the tour dates fell on Tuesdays, suggesting Hoying could have balanced both. Nevertheless, the duo’s performance garnered a score of 28 out of 40, but Hoying admitted to feeling “really flustered” during their routine. “I just blanked and didn’t kill it,” he reflected, expressing regret for Arnold, who he praised for her hard work.
In an emotional interview on the Official Dancing With the Stars Podcast, Hoying dissected their performance, acknowledging the challenges of dancing live. “I missed a move and then I could not recover,” he explained, describing how he struggled to regain composure mid-performance. Despite the mishaps, he found solace in the experience, stating, “It threw me so far out of my comfort zone … and I just feel stronger because of it.”
As the news of his elimination spreads, fans are eager to see how Hoying will channel his energy into the upcoming tour, which launches in two weeks. The Pentatonix tour promises to be a significant event, and Hoying’s commitment to it is now unwavering.
Moving forward, fans can expect to see Hoying embracing the challenges of touring, while also reflecting on the lessons learned from his time on the dance floor. The emotional journey has not only strengthened his friendship with Arnold but has also underscored the stark differences between singing and dancing for an audience.
For those following the competition closely, the elimination has sparked discussions about the dynamics of voting and performance in reality TV. As the season progresses, all eyes will be on how the remaining contestants adapt to the pressures of the show, especially after such a dramatic cut.
Stay tuned for more updates as Hoying embarks on his new tour and reflects on his transformative experience on Dancing With the Stars.
