Seattle Seahawks Announce Roster Changes: Jarran Reed on IR

UPDATE: The Seattle Seahawks have just announced critical roster changes, with defensive tackle Jarran Reed officially placed on injured reserve (IR) due to wrist and thumb injuries sustained during last Sunday night’s game against the Washington Commanders. This development, confirmed earlier today, adds to the team’s ongoing injury woes as they prepare for their upcoming match.

With Reed sidelined, the Seahawks must find a replacement for their starting nose tackle. Options currently include Byron Murphy II, who transitioned to defensive end this season after primarily playing nose tackle as a rookie, and Brandon Pili. The team continues to feel the impact of injuries, with both Johnathan Hankins and Rylie Mills remaining on the non-football injury (NFI) list.

Joining Reed on the IR is wide receiver Dareke Young, who missed last week’s game due to a quadriceps issue. Both players will be absent for at least the next four games, a significant blow to the Seahawks’ depth and performance.

In response, Seattle has signed veteran wide receiver Cody White, who made headlines last week with a notable 60-yard touchdown against the Commanders. Additionally, defensive tackle Quinton Bohanna has been added to the roster to help fill the gaps left by Reed and Young.

The Seahawks have further elevated rookie Ricky White III and inside linebacker Patrick O’Connell from the practice squad. O’Connell did not practice on Friday due to a knee injury but is expected to play a key role, especially on special teams.

As the Seahawks brace for a tough matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, who are also dealing with significant injuries, the team’s ability to adapt will be tested. Fans are left anxious about how these roster changes will affect the game plan moving forward.

Stay tuned for further updates as the situation develops. The Seahawks will need to rally together to maintain their top-five defensive ranking amid these challenges.
