Taylor Guitars Unveils Six New Latin-Inspired Models Now Available
UPDATE: Taylor Guitars has just announced a significant expansion of its SOMOS Collection®, introducing six new double-course models tailored for Latin music. This launch includes three Bajo Quinto (10-string) and three Doce Doble (12-string) guitars, available now at authorized dealers worldwide and on TaylorGuitars.com.
The new models are designed to cater to the growing demand for innovative instruments in Latin American music, enhancing accessibility for a broader range of players. “With the SOMOS Collection, we’re celebrating our musical and cultural connections that define our home in Southern California and Baja California,” said Andy Powers, Chief Guitar Designer and CEO at Taylor Guitars. This timely release aims to bring fresh textures and tonal possibilities to guitarists globally.
These latest additions to the SOMOS Collection feature a cutaway Dreadnought body, onboard electronics, and a slim neck for easy playability. They utilize C-Class bracing, a variation of the company’s patented V-Class® bracing, designed to improve volume, sustain, and intonation. Each model is equipped with D’Addario custom string sets and a unique string-ramp setup that enhances resonance without traditional interference.
Model Highlights:
– **100 Series – 150ce Bajo Quinto / 150ce Doce Doble:** Starting at $899 USD, these entry-level models showcase a natural matte finish and a warm, classic tone with powerful articulation.

Renowned artists and producers in contemporary regional music, such as Joaquin Ruiz from Grupo Firme, have already embraced these models. “The Taylor bajo quinto and doce doble have really helped me find new ways to express myself,” Ruiz shared. “They’ve inspired me with their fresh sound and unique approach.”
Crafted in Taylor’s state-of-the-art facility in Tecate, Baja California, these new models reflect the company’s commitment to craftsmanship and sustainability while making high-quality instruments accessible. “The SOMOS Collection is literally and spiritually built on both sides of the border,” added Powers.
The six new SOMOS Collection models are available now, with prices ranging from $999 USD for the 150ce to $1,699 USD for the 260ce-K DLX. For further details, visit TaylorGuitars.com/Somos.
