Urgent: Officer Injured, Two Arrested in San Ramon Police Chase

UPDATE: A police officer in San Ramon, California, was injured during a dramatic chase late Sunday night, leading to the arrest of two suspects connected to a string of auto burglaries. The incident unfolded around 11:00 PM when police pursued four individuals believed to be involved in stolen vehicle operations.

Authorities had received reports that the suspects were returning to the scene of a previously abandoned stolen vehicle. As they fled in a vehicle, they struck a total of four patrol cars, causing a chaotic scene that left residents shocked. “I heard the sirens, and then a big crash. I looked outside and saw the fire hydrant blasting in the air,” said local resident Adam Bieneman.

According to Lt. Leysy Pelayo of the San Ramon Police Department, the suspects’ vehicle hit one officer, momentarily pinning his leg between the door and the frame. The officer was treated for injuries but is expected to recover.
