Vacaville Charities Launch Urgent Holiday Drives for Families

UPDATE: Vacaville’s community organizations are urgently launching their annual holiday drives this week, shifting focus from Halloween to the critical needs of local families. As the demand for assistance rises, charitable groups are mobilizing to ensure every resident can enjoy the holiday season with dignity and hope.

Just announced, the Vacaville Fire Department has kicked off its 2025 Vacaville Christmas Fund, aiming to support more households than in previous years. Residents are encouraged to contribute, with every dollar making a significant impact. “All donors will receive a letter for their tax records,” officials stated, emphasizing the importance of community support. For more information and to donate, visit CityofVacaville.gov/News.

The Vacaville Christmas Wish program, running for over 40 years, is also seeking sponsors for underprivileged children. Each child’s wish is represented on ornaments hung on community “wish trees,” allowing individuals and businesses to “adopt” a child or make a cash donation. The deadline for families to register for assistance is November 19, 2025, with details available at VacavilleChristmasWish.org.

Simultaneously, IBEW Local 1245 has initiated its Fall/Winter Food Drive to benefit the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano. Non-perishable food items can be dropped off at the union hall located at 30 Orange Tree Circle or contributed online via their Virtual Food Drive. The drive will continue until December 31, 2025, with essential items requested including canned meats, vegetables, and shelf-stable milk.

Budget Blinds of Fairfield/Vacaville is also joining the charitable efforts, aiming to collect 2,500 food items for The Vacaville Storehouse by November 14. Donations can be made at their showroom, located at 57 Commerce Place, Suite D, or scheduled for pickup by their design team.

Additionally, the annual Festival of Trees fundraiser benefiting the Opportunity House, Vacaville’s homeless shelter, will take place from November 19 through December 2. Organizers are calling for decorated artificial tree donations, with participants receiving a free ticket to the popular “Cookies for a Cause” event. Trees should be dropped off on November 17, between noon and 6 p.m. at the Vacaville Museum.

As the holiday season approaches, community involvement is crucial. Every contribution, whether it be food, toys, or time, can make a lasting impact on families in need. Residents are encouraged to participate in these vital programs, ensuring that no family in Vacaville is left behind this holiday season.

Stay tuned for more updates as these initiatives progress, and consider how you can contribute to your local community during this urgent time of giving.
